Give a Tide
The Tide have a ton of talent once again at the defensive end and outside linebacker positions. However, for the Tide the problem has been that they have had talent year in and year out at those positions but for a couple years they have struggled greatly getting after the passer. Nick Saban has made it clear that it is no secret that he wants to get more pressure on the quarterback this season and preferably without having to blitz too much. That is where Da'Shawn Hand should be able to make an instant impact.
Hand is likely to join D.J. Pettway in lining up at the defensive end position when the Tide's opposition is in a passing situation with one goal in mind, get after the quarterback. Hand is a grown man for an 18 year old and he will be able to bull rush many SEC offensive tackles but also has the speed and quickness to beat them around the edge. The good news for Hand is that he won't have to worry about to many of the complexities of Saban's scheme early in the season. He will come onto the field with a clear mission to get pressure.
I expect Hand to end this season with 5+ sacks and by the end of the year possibly be a first team defensive end by the time the Iron Bowl rolls around.
